Founded in 1945, Superior Manufacturing Company began as a supplier of steel storage bins during the post-World War II automobile boom. Over the next decade SMC acquired the engineering knowledge and fabricating expertise to become a job shop manufacturer for textile, telecommunications and other emerging industries. When the expansion of domestic infrastructure in the 1960’s created new opportunities in commercial construction equipment Superior invested in new capabilities and transitioned from a basic job shop to a full-production supplier to OEMs.
