A Closer Look at Panduit

How Panduit Began

Panduit logoPanduit started out in 1955, with a name pieced together from the term Control Panel Conduit and a home base in Tinley Park, Illinois. More than 50 years and 3500 employees later, Panduit's headquarters are still in this Chicago suburb, but the company now has manufacturing plants and distribution facilities all across the globe!

Their unbelievable growth can all be credited to this company's expertise at crafting electrical and network solutions that are both innovative and affordable. Throughout its history, Panduit has become the name that network installers trust, and their raceways, wire duct, cable ties, faceplates and surface mount boxes have become the standard in datacom/telecom installations around the world.

Cutting edge product development and manufacturing

When it comes to engineering and producing new products, future-ready Panduit relies on computer aided design, manufacturing, and quality assurance equipment to turn out high caliber, low cost solutions for the telecommunications, electrical, OEM, MRO, industrial and transportation industries.

In Panduit's ISO 9001 and 14001-certified facilities, new products can go from sketch to prototype in as little as a few hours, thanks to the company's ability to carry out all phases of development and manufacture in-house. Panduit actually designs and builds whatever tooling and equipment is needed to manufacture each product right on site!

Panduit and RoHS

In July 2006, the European Union officially put their Restriction of Hazardous Substances into effect. This directive, also known as RoHS, was designed to protect both humans and the environment from several harmful chemicals and compounds that are often found in electronics and electrical products. The substances regulated by the RoHS directive are lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE).

If your application calls for RoHS compliant components, you can rely on materials by Panduit to get the job done! The vast majority of Panduit's Network Connectivity and Electrical product lines meet RoHS standards.
