I searched the Net extensively for cable labels and these were the best thing I found. They are easy to install and remove, work well for varying cable sizes, and different colors are available to differentiate cables belonging to separate systems.
The surface area where you put the label is fairly big, so there is enough room for a detailed (i.e. more than one or two words) description of your cable if you use a tape labeler and a small enough font. I used a tape labeler and it worked great for this purpose. I printed the tape label and then stuck it on the cable label's surface. You can also write directly on the label surface with a marker (although I did not do this.)
One drawback is that they will spin on smaller diameter round cables so that the label surface is facing down (gravity) and you can't read it without reaching down and spinning the label surface back up. This is somewhat annoying but it wouldn't keep me from buying these again. They don't spin on larger diameter round cables or on flat cables.
I would not recommend these for automotive use or any other area where they will be exposed to heat. After all, they are plastic. Also, I don't know how well they would stay on if the cable moved frequently somehow, e.g. due to vibration, but my cables are all sedentary so that issue hasn't arisen for me.
To summarize, these cable labels serve the purpose very, very well and I would definitely buy them again as well as recommend them to others.

I would not recommend this product at all. It is a bulky, inefficient solution and waste of plastic, when all it does is label, something that would be much more easily solved with a simple printed label. It does not adjust to fit snugly on most cables I tried, which often leaves it in a spot where you can't easily see it. Also, it gets "crowded" if you have a few of them next to each other and I have a lot of cables. Difficult to remove and re-use. I've had many of them break when trying to remove them. For simple labeling purposes, you're better off getting a label printer.

Comments about UNITAG 10 PACK:
Very cheap product. The plastic string piece that attaches the cable cradle to the writing surface can break off simply by grabbing it too roughly. I would not recommend to expect multiple uses from this product or to use them outdoors in any environment. Other then that they get the job done and fit FTP and RG-6 cable no problem.

This is a re-order of this item. We have 50 servers connected to KVMoverIP devices in several rackmount cabinets. Labeling the servers with the KVMoverIP port numbers at the server's side makes it very easy to identify which server we need to attend.

Comments about UNITAG 10 PACK:
The cable labels are very easy to see and use, they work well for basic labeling and color coding. They are durable for the server room, however they are not easy to remove and move around (which can be a good thing). The only real problem I see, which again can be a good thing, is the fact they are not snug on standard CAT5 cables, so they slide down a little. Other then that I am very happy with the product!

Comments about UNITAG 10 PACK:
There is no need to make cable id's in a specific size. Originally there were cable id's which were cable ties with a tag attached. These could be used for any cable and easier to use. What happened to them?

Comments about UNITAG 10 PACK:
I am an electronics repair technician. I have to set up hometheatre and audio products at major retail locations. Cables are often unplugged and messy, making it difficult to plug them in where they belong. Now I can quickly return cables to proper locations allowing me to service more stores. Saves me a lot of time and aggrivation.
