OVR Braid®
OVR Braid®
The fact is, braid is better at protecting wire harnesses than any other technology engineers have come up with. Braid beautifully combines the features of flexibility, ruggedness, breathability, and coverage. What is not considered a feature of braid is the 2000 pound braiding machine required to create many of today’s “over braided” heavy equipment harnesses. That’s why Techflex® created OVR Braid. Made from the exact OEM yarns used and approved by the top construction equipment manufacturers, OVR Braid is designed to install from a roll quickly and efficiently. This is perfect whether building an assembly from scratch or repairing an existing wire loom. OVR can be installed in a similar way to our well know Flexo® style sleeves, by expanding and sliding it. This allows OVR to snake itself down nearly any harness without tools or machines. Once installed even a highly experienced harness aficionado would be hard pressed to tell which harness was “over braided” and which harness was “Techflex OVR Braid”.

Why Use OVR Braid Instead of Overbraiding Services?
Cost Savings: Braided sleeving is typically less expensive than overbraiding services, especially for small or custom orders. If you have a large quantity of hoses to protect, using OVR Braid can save you a significant amount of money.
Easy Of Installation: OVR Braid can be easily installed by slipping it over the hose, whereas overbraiding requires specialized equipment and skilled labor. You know what that means... more time and money on installation costs.

What Is OEM OverBraiding?
OEM (Original equipment manufacturer) overbraiding involves wrapping a hose or cable with a layer of braided material, such as nylon or stainless steel, to improve its strength and durability. The braided layer can also provide protection against abrasion, punctures, and other types of wear and tear that the hose or cable may be exposed to during use. Examples of OEM applications that may require overbraiding include automotive, aerospace, and industrial systems, where hoses and cables are used to transmit fluids, gases, or electricity. Below are some specific benefits of overbraid on Hoses:
Increased strength & durability: Over braiding involves wrapping a hose with a layer of braided material, which can increase its strength and durability. This can make the hose more resistant to damage from abrasion, punctures, and other types of wear and tear.
Improved resistance to pressure: Over braiding can also increase a hose's resistance to pressure, making it better suited for high-pressure applications. The braided layer can help prevent the hose from bursting or leaking under high pressure conditions.
Protection against environmental factors: The braided layer can also provide some protection against environmental factors such as UV rays, chemicals, and extreme temperatures. This can help extend the life of the hose and prevent damage caused by exposure to harsh conditions.
