Q&A “Can I Use the Same Sleeving for Automotive and Home Theater Cables?”

“Can I use the same sleeving for automotive and home theater cables?” It’s Anthony from CableOrganizer®, with a question one of our customers recently asked us. The short answer: sometimes. But should you? It depends what you’re working on. Techflex® Flexo® PET Braided Sleeving (here https://lnkd.in/eseE93Xk) for example is super versatile and works great in both environments. You can use it to keep your speaker wires tidy in your living room—and to keep some wires safe from abrasion in your ride. But, if you’re dealing with engine heat or chemical exposure, you’ll need something tougher for under the hood. Like sleeving from the Techflex® Insultherm® product family, which you’ll find at CableOrganizer® in our high temperature sleeving category (here https://lnkd.in/e-DcnfZw). This sleeving combines tightly braided, high temperature resistant fiberglass yarns, with high temperature resins. It continues performing in heat up to 1200°F (649°C) and stands up to vibration, abrasion, and mechanical stresses.  So yeah, you can use the same sleeving in both places but first be sure to think about the environment your cables are up against. Cable management isn’t one-size fits all. And you can find tons of choices at www.CableOrganizer.com to work for both your automotive and home theater cable management projects.
