FEP heat shrink tubing is a common alternative to PTFE, with similar electrical and friction properties and chemical resistance. FEP heat shrinkable tubing conforms to Mil-I-23053/11, and UL 94 (V0, VW-1), and is suitable for continuous use at temperatures up to 204°C.

FEP heat shrink tubing is used in cases where temperatures are not as extreme, and very high shrink ratios are not necessary. It is also widely used when components cannot handle the extreme shrink temperature of PTFE. It is available in 1.6:1 and 1.3:1 varieties, shrinks at around 190-210°C, and has found widespread use and appeal.

Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI)
The ratio of how much oxygen - as compared to other gases - needs to be present in the air surrounding a particular material in order for that material to burn. The fact that Earth's normal atmospheric air contains around 21% oxygen is used a reference point when materials are classified into burn categories that are based on Limiting Oxygen Index. Substances that are combustible in air containing less than 21% oxygen are considered flammable, while those that burn in the range of anything greater than 21% but less than 28% are typically labeled "slow burning". Any material with an LOI that exceeds 28% is classified as self-extinguishing.

Good afternoon! I am very interested in your FEP Heat shrink tubing to protect a temperature gauge to control digestion of soil material using corrosive acids and HF. Could you please tell me whether the end of teh tube can be effectively sealed as well, and the minimum amount of tubing we coudl order ( for an probe with a 4mm diameter), how long it woudl take and teh cost of freight to Australia.
