Fiber optic cabling cannot carry power but it can carry data over very long distances without significant signal loss. Copper cabling is just the opposite. This fiber-to-PoE media converter provides a much needed unification of these cables. It saves the cost and trouble of the many extenders, amplifiers, and huge spools of cabling you would need to run PoE Ethernet over distances up to 10 km (singlemode). This unit takes over at the end of the fiber run, adding power and continuing the data up to 10 m (300 ft.). It's perfect for remote IP cameras, Ethernet switches WAPs, and other PoE network devices.
