The Benefits of Using Vertical Power Strips

By: CableOrganizer®

Thin power strips provide the convenience of extra outlets in compact spaces where multiple electronic items are located. These streamlined solutions are ideal for entertainment areas, workstations, computer or server racks, garages and workshops.

RACK MOUNT POWER STRIPS

Rack mount power strips are designed to be installed vertically, with the possibility to place some horizontally. What are some of the features of several power distribution units (PDUs) available at CableOrganizer®?

HIGH DENSITY SLIM POWER STRIPS

high density

High Density Slim Power Strips — These Middle Atlantic® brand power strips from Legrand® are razor-thin in appearance but can accommodate up to 8 outlets on one 15 amp circuit. The 10-foot power cord enables the power strip to be mounted with the Middle Atlantic® “quick clip” system. The choices include one with circuit breaker protection or another with that plus MOV (metal-oxide varistor) and EMI (electromagnetic interference) protections. Supplemental brackets can either mount the strip vertically or horizontally. The vertical mounting is compatible with the Middle Atlantic® DWR Series Wall Mount Rack.

BLACK BOX® 30 AMP DUAL-CIRCUIT POWER DISTRIBUTION UNIT

black box

Black Box® 30 Amp Dual-Circuit Power Distribution Unit — There are 24 outlets on this 30 amp dual circuit. This PDU is made of lightweight aluminum to hang with ease in tight enclosed spaces. The receptacles can be labeled to identify plugs in each outlet. The independent circuits help to provide power to the other circuits on the PDU if a circuit overload occurs.

TRIPP LITE SINGLE PHASE METERED PDU

tripp-lite

Tripp Lite Single Phase Metered PDU — The Tripp Lite Metered PDU from Eaton offers a 71-inch reliable power distribution solution along with built-in load meter for local current monitoring. The metered system provides load balancing to prevent overloads. The metered PDU display provides real-time data with the current draw of connected equipment reflected in amps. This system enables better power management, allowing more equipment to be added to maximize the PDUs capacity, without taxing the system.

SIGNAMAX® RACKMOUNT POWER DISTRIBUTION UNIT

signamax

Signamax® Rackmount Power Distribution Unit — This rack mount PDU can power up to 12 components and comes with an integrated circuit breaker that cuts power if there is an overload or short. The model with 12 front power receptacles contains high-impact, flame-retardant thermoplastic housing and comes with a swiveling power cord. Brackets are available to mount the PDU vertically at a 90-degree angle.

QUEST MANUFACTURING CO™ MULTI-OUTLET PDU RACK MOUNT POWER STRIPS
