Wire wraps are easy to use and make a world of difference. Simply use these Velcro cord and cable tie wraps by using the self-gripping fastener around one wire, then thread it through the loop on the end of the strap.
Patented VELCRO® One Wrap® brand self-gripping fasteners offer a neat and secure fastening system that is both adjustable and reusable. These unique back-to-back fasteners can be cycled (open and closed) hundreds of times. VELCRO® cord and cable tie wraps are available in a variety of strap lengths, widths, and colors, and One Wrap® brand fasteners can be designed to meet your needs with custom packaging options (please contact us). The Velcro wrap arounds are made of medium profile polyethylene molded hooks laminated to a woven nylon loop.

I own a mobile entertainment company and these cable wraps have made my cables nicely organized and easy to separate without tangles, knots or snags. I use them on all kinds of cables ranging from power, speaker, low voltage, video and audio and they are perfect for any cable I have up to 25 feet in length. I used to tie each cable into a knot on itself making it difficult to untie and impossible to keep from snagging. Now they are all wrapped to the same standard and the cable wraps hold them during packing, unpacking, moving and storage. They are exactly what I needed.

I love One-Wraps. I use them to organize the calbes in my laptop case. I color code my cables - blue = printer cables, red = external hard drive cables, yellow = laptop cables, orange = other peripherals, purple whatever is left. I can set up and break down my "rolling office" in a snap. If I decide to only set up my laptop or set up with only the HD or only the printer, that is easy to do, too. No more groping through a tangled nest of snakes. I recommend them to everyone!

I am in a local rock cover band (self roadie) and have struggled to keep things organized. Biggest problem was figuring out who's cable you are rolling up after a show. Now I know exactly which ones are mine even backstage in low light thanks to my blue velcro straps. They are durable and won't fall off. I am using these to tidy up messes of wires that were dangling below classroom computer tables. Now that the mess is all stuck up, the workstations the cabling serves look tidy, and--somehow--more appealing. I am also using these to bind Cat5E that is coming out of a switch to serve rackmount servers.
The hooks love the loops, and the loops love the hooks. Prying apart the stack of ties can be quite a challenge, so there is definitely no lack of holding power given ample area. One end of the ties has a slit for looping the wires to cinch them down before binding them--it works wonderfully.
One cable tie /might/ be able to hook itself around the girth of a standard incandescent bulb, but it definitely wouldn't be a good hold. Of course, if binding that amount of wire, one would probably be doubling these up--at least--in any case.
The edges on the ties do not seem over-sharp, and the hooks are /very/ low profile, feeling like very, very small fish scales. I cannot foresee any friction issues with these cable ties.
I elected to not check the "Great Protection" attribute from the list of Pros, because the protection offered is in containing cabling messes, which reduces "accident" liability: the chance of a wire being snagged and persons or equipment being damaged.
Cons? I can't really think of any. They stick to sweaters pretty well. They don't do my laundry or wash my dishes. Nope.. no cons.
