The WireMaster XR-5 datacom LAN cable tester can test patch cables or installed wiring with the detachable remote. The Cat5 cable kit tester has a portable handheld ergonomic design and checks for continuity, miss-wiring, opens, shorts, crossover and grounding. This CAT5 cable tester tester includes BNC terminator, BNC, RJ-11 and RJ-45 jumper cables. |

This is a great tool for the price. You can quickly find bad cables and also where jacks are punchdown in the computer room. The remote part makes it very useful for the location of Punchdowns. Simple to use just plug in the cables and watch the LEDS. Will buy more when the need comes.

Remodeling my home and installed CAT 6 in every room. Before drywall went up, i bought this to test all runs.
Works like a charm. Easy to use and simple. Plug the remote into on outlet in a room and attached the main unit to the network patch panel on the same circuit and repeat.
Its great for checking conditions of all of your USB, 1394, coax, phone cables as well.

I would definitely recommend this product. It's red because it stands out from the crowd. They couldn't have made it any easier. 1 Button. Led's are easy to read and understand, even in low light. Definitely worth the extra money.
