Merchant response: We’re very sorry that the failed test results you experienced were so frustrating! And thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience, because that led us to contact the manufacturer, Signamax, for information on why that would have happened. Signamax informed us that the type of feed-through connectors used with this panel are technically adapters. Because they’re classified as adapters, they’re only compatible with the listed category (that is, able to support a given level of transmission as part of a link or channel), as opposed to being compliant, which would require them to meet all requirements of that category’s standard. According to Signamax, because the adapters aren’t standard compliant, testing each one separately won’t give a complete or accurate picture, so they should be tested as part of a complete link or channel (and even then, factors like the number of connection points and cross-connect configuration can affect the results).
That said, we inadvertently used the term “compliant” instead of “compatible” in areas of the product description text, which may have contributed to the confusion with what the product is actually capable of - and for that, we apologize wholeheartedly! Now that we know the error, we’re carefully reworking the text for complete accuracy. In the meantime, we’re taking all steps necessary to make this up to you and ensure that this doesn’t end without you having a product that you’re fully satisfied with or confident in. If you’re not happy, we’re not happy!
