Most utilities are located using electromagnetic locators. The equipment consists of a transmitter (applies the frequency) and a receiver (picks up the frequency). There are a few ways to locate pipes and cables underground; sondes are one of the methods for quick, easy and accurate detection. More

These watertight beacons are designed to be threaded onto the end of a flexible rod or fish tape and routed through nonmetallic or metallic pipes to trace their path. They are also used to locate blockages, pinches, or cracks in these pipes. Due their small sizes, these transmitters can maneuver through 90° turns in 3 inch (76 mm pipe) and transmit location and depth information to the Receiver.

  • The 512 Hz frequency insures that the unit can be detected through cast iron pipe
  • These small devices are available in 33, 82 or 512 Hz electromagnetic signal for locating and estimating depth and work with your locator’s receiver to identify blockages and locate pipes:
