Here are just some of the different types of cable ties available that can prove useful in a variety of different applications.
Show How Different You Can Be With Different Types Of Cable Ties
- Nylon: The nylon cable tie is one of the common forms of ties that are used in today’s world. These cable ties consist of an easy to insert tape section which features triangular shaped teeth which are all sloped in one direction. Nylon cable ties feature a slot head with a flexible pawl which can easily ride up the teeth when the end of the tie or tape is inserted through the head. When it is pulled through, the pawl engages against the backside of the teeth to help stop the tape from slipping.
- Releasable: Releasable cable ties are designed to provide a reusable design which is great for reuse at multiple different times. These cable ties feature similar closing mechanisms to nylon cable ties. Although releasable ties are designed to be manipulated and allow for the teeth tape end to slide back out of the head without causing any harm to the cable tie. These are ideal for temporary cable setups.
- Metal: Metal cable ties are made from just that metal. Some are made from aluminum while others are made from stainless steel. Metal cable ties are designed to offer additional strength in a cable setup over other types of ties. Metal cable ties feature a tape end which offers small teeth. These are designed to be threaded into the head of the cable ties to help secure the installation together.
- Velcro: Velcro cable ties are also a great choice for many applications. Velcro cable ties are designed to wrap around the cable bundle with the tape end threaded through the small hole at the top of the head. With its Velcro design the end is then secured onto the body and sticks to it. These cable ties are designed to be reusable, and offer a temporary way of holding cable bundles together.
As you can see there are many different types of cable ties available which are perfect for creating a secure and tight seal around any cable bundle.
