They do what they are supposed to, and easily 'latch' themselves on to a standard RJ-45 connector. No broken retainer clips yet!
They are a rather stiff material. I could see rewiring more than a handful of these becoming rather cumbersome and wary for thumb pads and finger tips.
The very low-profile, tightly-clustered port designs are not an option with this boot. The boot slips over the entire connector, effectively making the RJ-45 connector a couple millimeters wider. Of course, if you are reading this review and have a switch with the aforementioned port designs, you would already know that the low-profile integrated boots are best, or at least the 'snap on' variety. Even so, one could put the boot on the end and just slip it off the connector for switch usage, snapping it back on if working on pulling wire or rewiring in general.
I can't really call them bulky, or mark it as a con, because these boots will work for 95% of the people who are going to be considering these for their application.
If you're making your own wire, and want a good boot that is not for the low-profile port designs, and you can stand having a less-supple material than the really, really soft rubber, get these.
