These tapes have many features including a rare earth magnetic tip, an impact absorbing rubber jacket that protects the case and end hook, and long-lasting nylon coating that reduces the blade wear. |
- Rare Earth magnetic tip sticks to iron and steel surfaces for simple one-person measurements. (Note: Magnetic strength will vary with different types of metal surfaces.)
- Comfortable, non-slip rubber jacket for easy gripping of dual-injected molded rubber case.
- Thick rubber jacket protects case against fall impacts.
- Convenient two-step lock button – 1st step slows retraction of the blade; 2nd step holds the blade securely.
- High-visibility orange case for easy locating in work areas and tool bags.
- Multi-riveted end hook with bottom blade protector reinforces the blade tip and provides maximum pull-out strength.
- Built-in shock absorber to protect blade tip.
- Nylon-coated, hardened steel blade resists abrasion and wear for long life.
- True zero feature for accurate inside and outside measuring.
- Durable steel belt clip for convenience.
- 1.25" wide blade on 917-25RE (1" blade on all others).

WARNINGS:

NOT insulated. Do NOT use on live circuits.
Do NOT open the case. Spring motor is under tension, and opening case may cause injury
Protect hands when cleaning magnetic tip. Use gloves or cloth.
Avoid magnetic contact with sensitive electronic or computer equipment.
To avoid personal injury and damage to this tool, do not allow the tape blade to retract into case at full speed.

This is the Cadillac of tape measures. It does everything for you in luxury except the actual measuring. The magnet on the end is strong. The tape is large and durable. The product is heavy and you can feel how well it is built. A must have for someone who uses one all the time.
