The KI 3800 series Optical Light source is used for testing loss in optical fiber systems, at 1 to 2 wavelengths on singlemode and multimode fiber cable. This model has the capability of one button automated multi-wavelength loss testing when used with an autotest compatible power meter or loss test set. The test tone function of the 3800 Optical Light Source can be used with a compatible Power Meter or clip-on identifier to test fiber continuity, route location or to find a fault.

The multimode LED emitters are optionally compliant with TIA/IEC standards for Coupled Power Ratio (CPR), center wavelength and spectral width. All emitters are fiber connected to improve stability.

Interchangeable optical connectors work well for both 1.25 mm SFF (small form factor) and 2.5 mm connectors alike. Like other Kingfisher products the connectors are dust and drop protected and the testers come with 3 popular connector adaptor styles.
