Comments about P3 Kill A Watt Electricity Meter:

It's useful for obtaining and comparing the electrical usage of a variety of products (lamps, appliances, home entertainment equipment, different types of bulbs). And it's fun, besides.

It could be more useful if the display were lit (or if the option were available) for better use in darker areas.

Comments about P3 Kill A Watt Electricity Meter:

This product was great fun to use. It convinced us to change some of our electrical uses in the house. The only drawback is that it can only be read when it is plugged in. So if your outlet is behind the fridge, then you have to move the fridge to read it.

Comments about P3 Kill A Watt Electricity Meter:

Check out how much power is wasted by all of the
power supplies left on 24 hours per day for a year, like a computer. The scanner, printer,
router, wireless, back up power, monitor, and
computer. I have a switched surge protector to
turn every thing off when not being used. The
computer is on line in 2 minutes and shut down
        in 18 seconds.

            Kill A Watt

            By Sparky

            from Ohio

            Verified Buyer

Comments about P3 Kill A Watt Electricity Meter:

For Homeowners: I does measure the KWH. Push the button and it will tell you how long your test period was. The rest is up to you. You have to do the math to calculate the cost per day/month/year. So, if you measured 2 KWH in a 12 Hour period you can assume 4 KWH per day or 1460 KWH per year. Then you need to find your rate from you bill. Roughly $0.10 per KWH equals $146.00 per year. You need to figure all this out on your own. I assumed there would be a way to calulate this on the unit or some examples because who does this everyday? In the end, you need a pencil, a calculator and to brush up you math skills. The minimal instructions are worthless. One the bright side. I choose not to replace my old deep freeze as I determined it was actually doing pretty good. I did the calculation, went to the local store and saw a new units KWH estimate and walked right back out the door. [$]well spent.

Meter is hard to read in low light. It needs some kind of internal light.

Could use some kind of internal battery to save readings once it is unplugged from wall.
