This handheld device is capable of combining all the functionality of a high-priced cable tester and length measurement device with the abilities of an LAN diagnostic tester. |
Assess cabling, measure cable runs, identify, monitor, and correct LAN issues associated with physical layer and link conditions in the network all in one portable, economical and easy to use kit. The LanScaperPRO™ will accurately identify unknown RJ45 jacks for active ethernet, POTS, token ring, or other devices. Additionally, it detects the presence of devices using PoE at the other end of the jack or cable being tested.
- This handy gadget can:
- Identify hubs, NICs, or auto MDI/MDI-X devices
- Measure cable length and generate tone levels for signal tracing and cable identification on all pairs, a selected pair, or a selected pin
- Locates and measures power delivered by IEEE 802.3af PoE and legacy Cisco in-line power
- Identifies active ethernet speed and capabilities up to 1 Gbps
- Able to ping three addresses as the same time to ensure that all are connected
- Shows you the length measurement for each pair in feet or meters
- Port discovery automatically detects and reports configuration of ethernet devices as well as other possible connections found on RJ45 jacks
- Performs ping tests of IP devices using DHCP or static host configuration
- Detects and reports using hub flash to locate a hub or router port
- Cisco Discovery to detect and display CDP messages broadcast over the network
- Remote mapping identifies up to 8 full test remotes or up to 20 ID-only remotes

Applications:
- Measure power to ensure adequately set up for powered devices such as VoIP phones
- Check for speed up to 1 Gbps, duplex mode, wiring mode, and polarity of transmit pair on active ethernet devices

- Utilize remote identifiers to wiremap network connections
Essentials of Testing:
- LanScaperPRO will turn on to the last mode used before turn off
- From main menu select 'Network Test' menu or 'Cable Test' menu using navigation keys and then press the SEL key
- From 'Test' menu use navigation keys to select desired test and then press the SEL key
- Press 'Test' key to begin selected test
