The ID-33-983 SIGNALTEK™ brings to the telecomm/ datacomm field a technically innovative system to analyze and record the performance of voice, data, video, and VoIP applications for cabling installers and network technicians. The qualifier tests the cables ability to support application by transmitting Ethernet packets on the wire. Performance is rated according to IEEE 802.3ab Gigabit Ethernet standard. Once the data has been gathered, it then reports the BERT (Bit Error Rate Test) for the link. It uses the latest generation of Gigabit Ethernet technology to provide the best performance to this new class of testers. Performing Bit Error Rate testing and decibel (dB) loss measurements of optical links are a snap with this revolutionary qualifier. Internal memory along with USB thumb drives mean you can save your readings for storing and printing qualification reports for copper and fiber jobs. The ID-33-983 has an innovative compact style along with soft molded sides to protect it from damage. Because of the SIGNALTEK-FO’s small size, it fits comfortably in your hands.

This is a wonderful tester. It does Multi-mode, Single-mode fiber, copper GB ethernet and links to the PC for documentation; what else would you need in a tester. It is SFP based so it is scalable for new standards. My only negative comment is that the bag is not big enough to hold all of my stuff I carry. It would be nice to offer an optional larger bag. One that has extra storage area for additional leads, fibers and RJ45 gear.
