Wire Management

Your home theater system requires a multitude of wires to operate correctly. Not all of which are routed closely to the actual television or theater system, either. Some have to travel to the far reaches of the room. Especially when installing a full Surround Sound system, you want to place speakers so that the audio is at it’s most optimal. So, what do you do about all those wires? Well…manage them, of course!

At this point, you will have identified all your wiring and cords as you install all your components for your home theater system. This is all part of wire management, but so is covering up unsightly wiring that must go across the wall, floor, ceiling, or to another room in the home. You may even have outdoor speakers for your patio that are included in your integrated home theater and entertainment system so you can hear music outdoors. The results are wiring installations that must travel for quite a distance without looking messy or unattractive.

Fortunately, you can obtain inexpensive wire management wire and cable managementdevices that allow you to match your wire management needs to your home décor, making the wire routing virtually invisible! Cable duct raceways, which are available in various shapes for different installations, allow you to place wiring inside the raceway which can then be installed along the floor molding board, at the top of the ceiling, or wherever your wiring management plan dictates. With color choices like white, tan, brown, gold, and others, it can fit into any color scheme without becoming obtrusive. Using raceway connectors, you can turn 90-degree angles successfully without having to attempt to create your own joint in a raceway.

Flexiduct cord protectors can be used to route wiring along the floor, even crossing a doorway if necessary. They are available in a variety of colors or clear, so that they will fit very well with your color scheme. For example, if you need to pass wiring or cords across the edge of brown carpeting, select a brown cord cover. This way it will not be noticeable and your wiring will not be a tripping hazard. This is great if you have children and or pets around, it will keep your wiring protected, as well as your child or pet. It also allows you to clean, vacuum, etc. without the nuisance of wires being all over the place.

For managing the wires that aren't readily visible, products like Corrugated Wire Loom which comes in lots of color choices, allows you to route wires, and even use a color coded system. Wire loom can be used behind entertainment center units, under desks or wherever you need to neatly route wires. These looms are flexible, making them easy to work with and also allow for easy bending into any area you need to place your wires. The great thing about wire loom is that it can be purchased in specific lengths and sizes you can have just the right size and amount for any situation. wire loom
