This bench mount hot knife instantly cuts braided sleeving, sealing ends with 1200°F heat to eliminate fraying that can lead to unraveling. Even more of a physical relief for cutting rope, it can sear through an inch of nylon in about 10 seconds. Needed a table mounted hot knife for cutting climbing rope and tubular webbing. Involved in both climbing and challenge course work. The cuts are quick, easy and clean.

Not only would I recommend this to a friend, I bought one for a friend's birthday! I can't imagine NOT having one in the tackroom. Perfect for making horse halters, cutting rope, trimming chewed-on rope ends, etc. Heats up very quickly. Be sure to have plenty of ventilation.

The installation is very easy, and product is very efficient. It is also great because of its small size. It is simple to use, but definitely requires a lot of caution. Hot knives in general are products which if used carelessly can be destructive; therefore this should definitely be a product for a non-crowded industrial type of environment with safety precautions in place.
