In theory this tool is actually really great. The problem is that if you want to organize cables for your home such as mouse, keyboard, USB, CAT5, etc. you can only fit one, maybe two cables in at a time. However, this tool would work fantastic if you were feeding 5 or 6 SPEAKER WIRES at any single time. This is because these wires are really thin. Anything thicker, say a USB cable, you are running a single cable at a time. If your wire loom is 3/8 thick you will have trouble running a USB and a network cable even in multiple passes. I don't know why but you need at a min ½ loom 1 inch would be better if you need to run multiple passes. The handle is useful and makes things easy. Bottom line: Useful if wiring a group of really thin wires for speakers, headphones, thin car wires or one thick cable at a time such as a CAT5. Not useful if you want to wire your desk at home or need to fit more than one cable in at a time.

It sounds like you might have been using an installation tool that was too small for the size wire loom you were working with. Check out the diameters available on http://cableorganizer.com/loom-tool/. The best way to get all of your cables in at once is to select a wire loom tool that's the same size - or slightly smaller than- your wire loom, You'll get a lot more done in far less time!
