Convoshield® AL Thermal Sleeving is a lightweight, easy-to-install split wire loom that can add years to the life of your automotive components. Not only does this sleeving protect from up to 1000° F (500° C) of radiant heat, but also guards against moisture, corrosive fluids and abrasion. This rugged metallic loom will beautify your engine, motorcycle hoses, or any other high-heat wiring project. |

Life of Convoshield Chrome Loom

I use the Chrome shield in 4 sizes on my show car, must replace at least once a year some times twice as the finish can't stand the cleaning that an all Chrome engine must have I have changed my general quick cleaner for chrome 3 times. This car see's 3000 miles a year and wiping and cleaning twice a week on the average. It is such a problem with a large cost that next time around I am thinking about running polished stainless hose and putting the wiring inside as in the long run it will save on cost. However it will not look as bright as the convo does until the convo finish dulls and than begain to flake which is 4 to 8 months. The plating method is not good enough. The Engine I am talking about has a plastic factory large fan shroud, plastic washer bottle, wiper moter cover and some wire race that are all Plastic Vacuum Plated and are very chrome and bright and are 2 years old or older and are in nearly the same condition as when installed any damage was my fault not the finish. I guess what I am saying is you have the best of the split shield tubing available but for $[...] dollar a year to make my show car presentable (and this car wins a lot). Please look into a much more durable Chrome system, even if cost more but will last ie: create a new special for Auto product. I will glady be your test car.

My car blew up and this was the only stuff that survived.JJ Seriously, I bought this stuff to resist heat in the engine compartment, the heat source was 220 degrees and I wanted to cover it and it worked without melteing, or any disformation. Easy to work with, very helpfull staff, fast shipping.
