Got this as an add on I tossed it in a rack to sit a keybord and mouse on, it would also work good if you have a router or other network device that is a desktop design and can not be mounted in a rack.

I should have listened to some of the warning in the reviews. Two shelves arrived in separate packaging and two shelves were bent. One I bend back into shape and one was so bent that I didn't even try to bend it back as I would no longer trust the shelf. The funny thing is the boxes are in good shape so it doesn't appear to be from shipping. Be warned.

I purchased four of the 14.75in ventilated shelves. Three of the four in the original shipment were basically unusable (read below). Of the three replacements shipped out, one was unusable. I would not wish these shelves on my worst enemy.The mounting holes are drilled so far off that you must bend the shelf into an arc to get them to mount (the rack holes are not even visible through the mounting holes on the shelf when trying to mount normally). Only one of the seven shelves had the holes placed properly.2 of the 7 came with the mounting brackets completely bent and unusable without some serious hammering. These shelves are absolute garbage. Used as a support shelf by flipping over. Worked well with the 27U two post rack that I purchased here. Shelf is durable and serves it purpose well. I did not purchase it with the intent to use it as a keyboard or monitor stand however it seem equally capable of performing those functions.
