This organizer is useful for too long cords in a permanent location. It is easy to install, but unwrapping basically involves turning it inside out to let the cable fall off. It is not useful for traveling, as the cable cannot be wound and unwond quickly to a desired length.
I purchased a number of cord organizers from this site for use when traveling. I carry multiple cords when traveling, and I am looking for the best product.

This is a good-looking product design and the idea is clever, but in use, it is not quite as practical. Compared to other solutions, it is relatively expensive and bulky. It also curls cables too much since you are winding it so tightly around a small wheel.

I have at least a dozen Turtles of varying sizes around my house from CableOrganizer.com: in my home office, behind my entertainment center in the living room, in my bedroom where I have medical equipment with a lot of unsightly cables. I have several gadgets and each has its cable. Well -2 cables really- 1 goes from the power to the transformer and 1 from the transformer to the gadget. I bought pairs of turtles in different colors and have set them up in line. Now I know that both red turtles are connected to the scanner. So I can just take the cable comming out of the red turtle and connect it to the power, and voila the scanner works! Before I had to use labels on each end, and they come off, and there were too many cable tangles. Now everything is neat. I LOVE IT!

This product is perfect for headphone use. I own a great pair of Sonys, but they have a cable that seems to go on forever. I researched cablewrap products for a long time before stumbling upon Cable Turtles. I can go biking and walk around listing to my iPod without having to stuff miles of cable into my backpack and trying to untangle my iPod from the cable when taking it out after putting it away. It protects the cable really well, and is easy to unwrap to whatever length I like. It's also more aesthetically pleasing than many of the other cable organizers I found. Absolutely fantastic device!
