Home Raceway, Duct, Conduit Cable Tray Systems M.E.2 Cable Tray System M.E.2 Straight Sections
M.E.2 Straight Sections
![]() |
Don't forget to pick up a CM99 Ratchet, the only tool needed to install cable trays.
|
Installation:
Tray sections can be cut to size with the use of an off-set blade bolt cutting tool. By cutting and removing wires, horizontal bends can be easily created. Elevation changes can be fabricated on site by cutting away all side wires from a grid and bending the tray as needed.
Grounding:
Cable trays are required to be grounded and bonded by NEC Article 250 for power, and data communication applications. A UL listed split bolt can be used as a bonding jumper to connect to each M.E.2 cable tray section when code requires it. If splice washer kits or connection loops are used to connect tray sections electrical ground path connectivity will be provided.
Tray Lengths:
7 and 10 ft lengths are available for purchase in a variety of widths: 6,8, 12, 18, and 24 inches. All of Cable-Mgrs. Cable Trays are measured in inches and not based on the metric system.
Material and Finish:
M.E.2 Cable Trays are 0.187 steel wire, welded into a 2" x 4" grid. The only available color is chrome.
Installation Hardware:
Mounting hardware is available for wall, trapeze, center support, and raised floor applications.

Comments about ME2 Straight Section 6"W x 2"D x 7'L:
First off this is very durable and strong tray. The sections are well built and are nice and straight.
My first recommendation is DO NOT try to cut this and make 90 degree bends or T's. Buy the prebuilt T's and corners that they sell. You will save yourself a lot of headache and time.
Where you end up cutting the sections with bolt cutters, you will have sharp edges exposed that will need some quick filing or grinding. Doing elevation changes can be a bit frustrating at times if you have a lot of them.
