Is it better to use a single sided or double sided shelf?
It really depends on your operation and whether you are going to be mounting heavy things. The advantage to a double sided shelf is that the load capacity is much higher than the single sided. A few disadvantages to the double sided shelf are that they can only be used in open racks and if you rack two components together, you will not have access to the back of either piece. Single sided shelves can be used on open racks or enclosed racks and have a smaller load capacity but give you full access to the back of the product.
