I have one run of braided sleeving to do and I don't want to purchase heat shrink or a hot knife. How can I keep this from fraying?
Although the number one way to keep braided sleeving from fraying is to cut it with a hot knife, if you order the exact length from us we will have the sleeving pre-terminated on each end to not fray. Over time if the sleeving is moved or rubbed it can begin to fray anyway, so we suggest using a piece of heat shrink tubing. If you do not want to purchase heat shrink, an alternative solution would be to take a small piece of clear tape and place it over the end of the sleeving. It will blend into the sleeving and keep the ends from fraying. A last resort option would be to run a lighter over the ends of the sleeving to weld them together. Please use this as a last resort as the plastic can adhere to itself when it is hot and this will cause the sleeving to be closed at the end. http://www.cableorganizer.com/wire-management/
