After a surge the circuit breaker switch did not reset my surge protector. Why?
on a surge suppressor the circuit breaker serves the same purpose as that of a breaker in the circuit panel of a building. When an unsafe amount of current is pulled through the suppressor (in excess of 12 amps on an Isobar Ultra product) the breaker will open and stop the flow of electricity to your equipment. Short events measured like surges and spikes are in fractions of a second. Short events can deliver hundreds to thousands of amps that quickly. A circuit breaker will not trip for these types of events because it takes more time to react to an over-current condition.
