Adhesive cable mounts are used together with nylon cable tie to secure cables or other items to walls, ceilings, desks, or any other structure. Adhesive cable mounts are extremely versatile because of the use of a rubber-based adhesive. The cover base adhesive provides high initial tack and quickly reaches maximum holding strength. The cover base adhesive will hold under continuous temperatures up to 125° F (52° C). The continuous straight-pull rated load is 1 lb. per square inch of adhesive. |
Use these cable ties mount metal bases with cable ties to anchor a wire bundle or cable to a flat surface. They are designed for use with any electronic equipment. Cable tie mount metal package includes 10 clear adhesive mounting bases. Cable Ties are not included
Durable Cable Tie Cradle Mount
Adhesive-backed mounting cable tie mounts are intended for attaching to clean and dry, metal, plastic, glass, paper and painted surfaces. Each cable tie cradle mount can also be used with concrete, bare wood or other porous or irregular surfaces with an optional screw mounting.

Used the product to hold shades in a 3season porch. Did not hold! The cable ties were rated at a 1lb load for each square, but 3 together did not hold. 2 lb shade. I'm sure these are very good for light objects. Maybe I just bought the wrong ones

I used this product for its designated application, namely to hold ATX PSU cables to the underside of 1U painted 19" rack trays.
initially things looked very good and a good bond in evidence, and when I installed one in the wrong position the adhesive proved amazingly tough to remove. Merely holding cables as a tidy-up with little weight, this suggested that they would last the course.
Sadly, I was mistaken...
The very next day I viewed the bases in-situ and already there was evidence that they had started to peel away from the underside of the tray. Thinking that perhaps I had not pushed them to the surface hard enough I repeated the process.
once again, the next day they had started to peel away from the edges of the base, with one only showing 60% of area still stuck to the tray.
I would therefore strongly advise against using these fixings on anything other than the top side of a flat surface. Walls, ceilings, and anything of a hanging disposition, I would strongly advise against unless you use an additional supporting screw. in such cases, the adhesive would at-least serve to prevent rotation !

Helped reduce the tangle of wires on every desk in our offices. However, it could be even better if they were available in desk colors like mid brown, dark brown, light oak, black and gray.

The design is fine but the adhesive is pretty weak. When installed vertically or underneath something (as in, the adhesive is fighting gravity was well as the weight of everything else) the adhesive is not strong enough. The good news is that I was installing on wood and after buying some wood screws and screwing in these bases, they stayed just fine.

I love these things in conjunction with small cable ties to keep cables under my desk right were I want them. Fasten anything you want to anything with this and a cable tie. Only down side is that once you stick it, it stays.

Sorry to hear that the clips didn't work as expected - we generally only recommend those for cable and cable tie applications. Without knowing exact details, it's hard to tell what may have gone wrong, but considering that they were used in a 3 seasons porch, factors like temperature fluctuation, wall surface and humidity may have played into it. Also, the clips are intended to hold loads more or less at clip level, and not so much for items like shades, which tend to hang and exert a constant downward pull. If you're looking for heavier-duty holding power, we recommend 3M Command clips and hooks, which generally tolerate higher weight capacities, and tend to be extremely versatile application-wise.
